The Annual Dinner Meeting of the Jay County Historical Society will be held on
Tuesday, November 15, at 6:30 p.m. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Asbury
United Methodist Church on East Arch Street in Portland. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m.

The cost of the meal is $15. Reservations must be prepaid at the museum no later
than 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8. The menu for the meal is cubed steak,
creamy mashed potatoes, green beans, Chinese cole slaw, roll, pumpkin dessert, and coffee or iced tea. It is being prepared and served by the Joy Circle of the church.
Following the meal, a brief business meeting will be held. Each year at the Annual
Meeting, five of the fifteen members of the Board of Directors are elected to a three-year term. Those whose terms expire at the end of 2022 are Bonnie Coffel, Phil Rager, Sue Sommers, Janice Stucky, and Bob Vance. All five of these have expressed a desire to serve another term. Anyone else wishing to serve on the board may be nominated from the floor that evening.
The program for the evening will be “A Salute to Jerry Landess”. Some of those close to Jerry will be reminiscing about his horse racing career and life. There will also be a recorded interview with Jerry from several years ago. Don’t miss a chance to learn about this well-known Jay County citizen and his accomplishments.
