We need your help in solving a
mystery at the museum. A box of
books, many of them scrapbooks, was
recently left outside our front door.
The only identification with the box is
the name of Alma Fleming which is
written in each of the books.
Since Ms. Fleming, a former Portland
businesswoman, is deceased, we
are relatively certain she didn’t leave
the box at our door. However, it is
important that we find the person or
persons who did!
As custodians of our county’s heritage,
it is imperative that museum staff
can identify where donated items are
coming from. If you, or someone you
know, left this box, please notify the

items not be left outside our door.
According to museum policies, donors
are asked to sign a form stating that
they are giving the items to the museum
and giving the museum permission
to use or dispose of them without restriction.
If you can’t come during open
hours, please contact one of our board
members who could meet you or arrange
to pick up the items at another
